As a Fashion Merchandising major at Virginia Commonwealth University, I’ve had the chance to learn about the ins and outs of the fashion industry, more specifically, the analytical side of the industry. While I’m grateful for my education, I’m also very fortunate to have participated in multiple internships during my college career. Without these internships, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to explore my creativity and discover my passion for styling. The harsh reality is that many students don’t have the time or money to get an internship, especially if they’re paying their own bills. As a result, Called to Create has crafted a membership, that won’t break the bank, for college students looking to explore their artistry or dip their toe into the more creative side of fashion.
Who should apply for the Student Creative membership?
The Student Creative membership is ideal for any college student, ranging from freshman to 1st-year post-grad, who is looking to acquire or expand their artistic skills and creativity.
Why is this membership so great?
Should a student choose to obtain a membership, they will get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative and fashion industries, access to educational opportunities taught by seasoned industry professionals, and evolve and grow their skillset.
How much is the Student Creative membership and what’s included in the cost?
The Student Creative membership is $25/month; included in this price is free access to educational workshops, discounts on event rentals, free access to networking events, and free access to an internal editorial photoshoot. Here at Called to Create, we understand that students have a wide variety of financial backgrounds and may not have access to disposable income. As a result, we wanted to find a price that’s fair yet manageable with our payment plans. For $25/month, students are gaining invaluable personal and professional skills that can take them very far in the creative and fashion industries.
What can a membership holder gain in the long run?
Students probably hear the phrase “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know,” and when working in the creative and fashion industries, that statement is partially true. With free access to our networking events, students have the ability to assemble a large network of seasoned industry professionals that could lead them to exciting opportunities. Building a strong network allows for students to seek guidance from trusted experts.
How to apply:
The Student Creative membership is listed under the memberships tab on the Called to Create Studios website. If you scroll down and click the “Sign Up” button, you’ll be taken to a page with our application.
